This study compared endothelial cell growth on the surface of the Elite Air® patch with that on control samples (conventional glutaraldehyde-treated and preserved bovine pericardium sections) in terms of cytoskeleton and cytoplasm. As shown in the figure, endothelial cells exhibited significantly more extended morphology and better growth on the surface of the Elite Air® patch, which offers superior biocompatibility. This indicates that the material facilitates faster endothelialization post-implantation, thereby reducing thrombosis risk. This advantage has been corroborated by both animal studies and clinical trials.
